Of the two books mentioned that Eugene Arima wrote the most valuable for would- be builders of Canadian Inuit kayaks I would have to say that "Inuit Kayaks in Canada" is the one to get. It has many scale drawings and construction info. The other book " A Contextual Study of the Caribou Eskimo Kayaks" is a more scholarly treatment of a particular Inuit people and the kayaks place in their lives. It is very well written.
" Inuit Kayaks in Canada" may still be available from the Canadian Museum of Civilization. It was available last year for about $17.00 Can shipping included
send an email to cyberboutique@civilization.ca to check if it is still available , failing that, check with your local library - they may be able to get it through Inter-Library-Loan , please return the book so that someone else can clutch it close to their breast for awhile and thank Eugene for a tour-de force!
