Seeking: Building a fiberglass boat

I'm interested in building a fiberglass boat at home this winter to use in a future Inside Passage trip. Does anyone have any insight about cost, design, links, construction timeline, or just plain general wisdom... other than ARE YOU INTO SELF TORTURE??? Thanks.
