I cut my strips from .275" to .282" thick. This gives you a little extra thickness on the cove edges. Even so, I had several strips that ended up at about .250" thick in places due to the plank pulling away from the rip fence due to warps and the release of internal stresses ... not to mention the occasional operator lapses in concentration. But ... I know my strips are at least 1/4" in all places before fairing ... which was my main objective.
