I have a couple space saving suggestions. Now that we are viewing the message text in a smaller frame, things are a little cramped. Maybe some of the duplicated header could be trimmed from the bottom frame. The green/blue swirlly image with the kayak builder and the 'This bulletin board is sponsored by' line probably don't need to be in both frames.

Since the entier thread listing is displayed in the lower window, maybe you could lose the 'In Response To' line.

I know you have a real job, besides managing this great site. Either way, better with frames.
