what size strips did you use and did you epoxy or glass under the deck
strips...Also the deck deckbeams are they the same radius as call out in the plans .. also same thickness. do you have pictures and where are you located..would like to see it got the panels cut out last night and will
fair them tonight.. thanks

: I just completed a cedar strip deck, hatch covers and backband on my CLC
: LT17. I installed 5 deckbeams in the forward section and 4 in the aft.
: Then I began stripping from the center out to the sides. No nails. No butt
: joints. Looks great! I cut the hatches and laid strips over the cutout
: piece with a 1 inch overhang - these are now my hatch covers. For the
: backband, I used a piece of plastic board and bent it to a suitable radius
: (kept in place with duct tape). Then I glued together strips (held in
: place with masking tape and spring clamps) until I had a nice sized
: rectangle that I later trimmed for my back band. I haven't figured out how
: I want to attach this to the kayak yet. And I am still deciding how to
: secure the hatch covers (leading towards a bunge cord on the inside). The
: cedar strip deck really looks great!
