The best thing about the rescue as shown on CTV news was that the kayaker, Fanny Rousseau, was well prepared and did stop long enough to think. She stopped to put on a wetsuit, helmet, head lamp, and carried a towing rig with a float board for the victims to cling to at a safe distance from her boat. Obviously a very competent and prepared paddler as well as heroic. On the news it was mentioned that the young girl would not have survived without this rescue.
