Strip: Front Bulkhead as Footbrace?
I've seen it mentioned here that some builders place the front bulkhead in a position to be used as a footbrace. This seems reasonable to me as I will be the only one using this kayak most of the time. There for sure won't be anyone taller than me in it. But is the bulkhead and its method of attachment strong enough to withstand the forces it may be subjected to? I can imagine some pretty severe pressure against it as I clumsily and frantically try to learn to roll next summer.
