Paul covered most of you question pretty well. Stitched non woven glass refers to layers of glass that are literally stitched together, usually with a polyester thread that will not become transparent. The idea is to keep the fibers straighter than if they were bent over and under the crossing bundles as in woven fabric. Another advantage is that it is easier to create fiber orientations other than the 0 and 90 degrees found in woven goods. Stitched fabrics are usually heavier than we like to use in kayaks.
