I've heard of others using this technique (Spidey, are you out there?), but haven't tried it myself. I wonder if it would actually work on ash the size of a rib, though? I guess I'll have to dig out the heat gun and a chunk of rib stock and try it. One advantage of this vs. soaking and steaming is that there is no shrinkage after the wood is bent.
