Myrl, I'm in the middle of building a strip deck on a Cormorant 16 S&G hull. I cut deck beams for every foot of the boat and screwed them in place to use as forms for the deck. I'm now ready to fiberglass the outside of the deck. Then I'll remove the deck beams, glass the inside of the deck, and glue the deck to the sheer clamps. I'll plug the screw holes from the deck beams and paint the hull.
Nick can probably enlighten you on this point, but if you use the Guillemot strip deck offsets for forms, you'll probably have to fiddle with the sheer a bit to get it to come out right. I tried to use Ted Moore's Resolute 16 strip deck offsets but finally gave up trying to fit the sheer and used a simple 16" radius for the fore deck and 24" radius for the aft deck. Good Luck. It will look great when you're done.
