I'm also a tax accountant, and have built a strip canoe and S&G kayaks. Be careful of what you commit to. I know how crazy tax season can get - the primary joy in boat building for me was to be able to take my time and enjoy the process - which I enjoy as much as the end result. If you put the pressure of a short turnaround on top of 60-70 hour weeks at work, you will likely have a bad experience. Also, in my opinion, strip building is far more enjoyable, and perhaps easier than S&G (although it does take more time).
