I didn't know that GValley had an S&G Kipawa - I build a strip Kipawa and can tell you that I am very happy with it. Relative to canoes in general, it has less initial stability (but solid secondary), and is somewhat more maneuverable than most tandems (but thus tracks weaker). It is small enough for me to paddle solo, but big enough to carry a good load. It is VERY efficient and responsive.

Bear in mind that a S&G, even intended to be the same design, wil likely perform very differently. Email GValley and ask how it compares to the strip version.

I also have nothing but praise for GValley in general based on my experiences.
