If you have $650 kicking around, that Bridge City unit looks mighty slick. It had better be.

: The current (it's also the first) issue of Fine Woodworking's "Tools
: & Shops" magazine rated the Veritas low angle block plane as the
: best value even though it costs about twice as much as the Stanley or
: Record. The Veritas block plane has a thicker blade, better blade steel,
: better blade support, lateral blade supports and better blade adjustment
