Another vote for polyester/Dacron

This is what I used on X too. It is much lighter than canvas/paint and has been very durable. I coated it with 5-6 layers of water based urethane. The only thing to be aware of with the fabric I have is to cut it with a hot blade. It frays badly when cut with scissors. A wood burning tool or soldering iron works well. I picked one up in a craft store for a couple of dollars.
