: I'd also like to note that the boat is fine in relatively rough water as long
: as the waves are consistantly from one direction. It's confused water that
: creates a problem. In the area in question, the water was just just
: splashing up and down in small peaks all over the place, without a really
: dominant wave direction. It's hard to explain.

I hate to say it, but the problem may not be the boat, but you. You may be tensing up and trying to force the boat to do what you want instead of letting it ride naturally. Sometimes, in confused seas the best course of action is to remove your legs from the thigh braces and let it wiggle without you.

However, since one boat handles one way and another handles in a different way, some of the responsibility lies with the boat. It is possible a little additional secondary would give you enough added security that you could become comfortable. The best way to get secondary is to increase the overall width. It is also possible that in short, random stuff increasing the effective length by reducing the pinching in the ends will let you bridge enough waves that the impact of one wave will be reduced.
