jim ,I found some free plans on the web that were 17'6" long took two 4x8 plywood laid them down but up then moved one out till the tape measure extended to 17'6" there is a gap there but not to worry yet. then taking the offsets I marked each one the specified length then took a pvc pipe and made a fair curve about the height of a s.o.t. then I brought the two panels together which ended up being about two feet so 17'6 - 2ft(approx)= 15ft6in (actual 15'61/2") if you want you can email me for more specifics,I know this is probably not very clear .I have also laid out the free offsets of the Cormorant 16 onto plywood.my first attempt at the cormorant was horrible the keel to bottom of the chine should be only 1 1/2 inches deadrise for some odd reason I keept the top and bottom of the side at 1 1/2 so keel to chine ended up 4 inches.....STOP LAUGHING.....OK EVERYBODY GET UP OFF THE FLOOR....WIPE THE SMIRKS OFF YOUR FACES....LOL so needless to say it was tippy ,tippy ,tipppy,tttiiiiippppyyy!!so i am building another and thought about it and wanted a sit on top also .so that is where i am at.what have you come up with so far???

you might try to assemble the hull and float it. Could probably mount
: bulkheads in it temporarily (or permanently if position is safe) and sit
: in it to find the best position for the seat. It seems 9 ft would be
: pretty far back for the LCB, just a guess would be 7.5 to 8 ft for a
: typical hull that length, but 9 ft could be the correct distance for the
: back of the seat. I'm also just starting to think about a similar design,
: curious how you are working up the shape of the panels.
