I recently turned a Snap Dragon neoprene spray skirt back in to REI. Because the neoprene extended to the edge of the coaming it was way too hard to use: if the bungee was tight enough to pull the skirt on securely, then it was impossible to fasten while afloat; the neoprene just wouldn't bend easily enough to wrap around while the coaming while balancing the boat. If the bungee was set looser, then the skirt was in danger of popping off. It seems to me that such skirts were designed with the narrow, nearly sharp lips of fg kayaks in mind--lips that can sort of bite the skirt. On the relatively thick, smooth, rounded lip of my Coho's coaming, the skirt couldn't get a grip. So: is there such a thing as a neoprene skirt with a nylon edge--or similar--that will be flexible enough to wrap around and get a good grip on a wooden coaming? I still want a neoprene spray skirt. I'll bet you guys have solved this problem!
Thanks in advance.
