it will depend on the control that you want. If you want to be absolutely sure of the profile, measure all forms from the widest (or say the ctr) and put the outside face on that location. then you know that the shape you design has a possbility of being built. (THis assumes consequitively smaller toward the ends-modify if important)

it will be especially important toward any location that has rapid changes. This usually(not always) means the ends.

its pretty easy to do so why not? you just don't get even form spacing. Or design it taking into acct the thickness at the sharp curvatures (annoying if you decide or have to use thicker or thinner form material)
