In Response To: S&G: Pygmy Double (Scott)

: Two questions: 1) Has anyone out there built the Pygmy triple (or a double)
: from the plans published in issues 131 & 132 of Wooden boat Magazine?
: How did it go? Is there any reason to buy the full size plans?

: 2) Would I have any problems stretching the length 1 foot by building on
: 12.6" centers?

: I would appreciate any insight or experience.

I built a double from that article.
You will have to fill in a few details yourself, but nothing insurmountable.
The deck panels could have used more detailed drawings of the ends, and a
table of offsets for the coamings would have been nice since they aren't
drawn full size in the magazine.
I think I could have saved a little time and some headscratching with
the full plans, but there is enough information in the magazine article to
build the boat.

I think it would probably be reasonable to stretch it a foot, as well.
The panels go together nicely, and I don't think an extra .6" per station
will dramatically change that.
