Pygmy's Osprey Standard might be a useful boat for you. It's 24" beam makes it more stable than narrower boats and it is multi-chine. Because of its wide beam, it has a lot of storage, despite it's moderate length (15'8"). The downside for you is that they only sell it in kit form, ie, no plans. However, the predecessor model, the Golden Eye, does have plans available. It has essentially the same hull, but only a two-piece deck, so the higher shear might get in your way if your paddle stroke is close to the boat. But, if you're going to use this more as a tender on your mini-trawler rather than as a heavily used sea kayak, it might do the trick.
