: In the next few weeks, I'll be at a point where I can hopefully join my deck
: and hull halves together ... and finally have the 'yak nearly complete.

: Before doing this, it seems like I should solicit advice on what to think
: about prior to joining the halves.

I added extra fiberglass reinforcements over the inner stems--you can never be too tough there! I also added some short dowels between the sides of the kayak, right behind the end pour, that I could use for "pulleys" to pull a long, skinny drybag or float bag into the end.

I'm not talking about cutting hatches
: -- I fully plan on doing that, hopefully soon. I'm talking about stuff
: like: -- footpegs
: -- bulkheads
: -- cheek plates(?)
: -- ??

: I'm looking for advice on this kind of stuff. A list, with any additional
: pointers or info you might have would be very cool. I haven't kayaked
: much, so I don't have a whole lot of experience here. I want to avoid the
: "Doh! I should have [...] before joining the halves!" experience
: on my first paddle, or even before -- like while thinking about the
: rigging on the deck.
