In Response To: S&G: attaching decks (Bert)
I used straps as well, borrowed 16 of them from a friend. Cutting the deck down to the rough final shape helps a bunch, as does having a buddy to help out. Ended up using tape between the straps as well (do a test for residue, generally higher quality tape like 3M is better, see archives) and also putting in ten nails total due to compound curves in the Ches17LT design.
Personally I don't feel that staples on their own will have enough holding power. It took us quite a bit of coercion to get the deck into the right shape. You can dryfit the deck to see if this is the case for your design.
Good Luck!
