: I also bought a similar product at home depot, foam weatherstriping. It was
: even marked "waterproof" so I assumed it was closed cell. The
: gasket absorbs water easily but it seals well. I used 1 inch by 1/4 inch
: because it compressed quite a bit. And the adhesive has held up ok. The
: foam doesn't absorb any water that you'd notice when it's compressed under
: the covers.

I saw some weatherstriping tape in at Menards that was marked closed cell.
