Hi Shawn,
: Anyway, you don't see too many of the east coast designers' boats at R2K1, or
: as many of the west coast designers' boats at the Newfound Rendezvous.
Yeh, that's what I noticed... I believe there were a few Pygmies at Newfound (my Arctic Tern wasn't quite done yet)... but I don't recally seeing any Redfish.
: I'd imagine you see a ton of Laughing Loons, Guillemots, Shearwaters, and
: Outer Islands, not to mention CLC boats at the Newfound Rendezvous.
Yep... lots of all of them. There were at least 4 Outer Islands... a VERY nice boat. I'm looking for a lower-volume boat than the Arctic Tern. I'll probably be torn between the OI and the Redfish, if/when I do my first stripper (boy, THAT could sound bad out of context).
I'm also considering a skin-on-frame (I've written here about a class at the Mystic (CT) Seaport Museum)... or the new CLC Arctic Hawk if I decide to just do another stitch & glue. ... and, hmmmm, the Merganser 17 is another stich & glue option... Argh! So many boats, so little time!
: He's working on a couple design tweaks. I'm sure we'll find out quickly when
: the plans are available.
I hope so... You guys really piqued my interest with your King descriptions and pictures from R2K1.
Keith
