Nope. Different, but not really more difficult. It's still easier than most whitewater boats with a center pillar.

Probably not--you carve them so there is more purchase "inside" your knees, but the tops of your kneecaps stilll contact the deck--you haven't lowered anything.

Yes, I couldn't handroll my boat until after I extended my knee hooks! Now I get so much purchase, I can actually flex my deck when I really pull hard with my knees.
