In Response To: Strip: Transition from topside to bottom (SMehder)

: I am building a Night Herron and would like some opinions regarding the
: transition from the sheer via the waterline to the bottom. About midship
: to the bow the distance from the sheer to the water line starts getting
: larger (duh?). How would you suggest making the top side so that I can
: start equal at the waterline as it transistions to the bottom. My sheer,
: an accent strip, and another strip follow the sheer. After that, aft of the
: cockpit, I will only have one 3/4 strip before I hit the waterline.
: Forward there will be several. Do I work with many cheater strips that
: will runout at the waterline around the cockpit? I had thought that I
: would do an accent strip on the water line, but may skip that.

: I know there are many persons with good ideas on this board, thanks in
: advance with your ideas.

I'm currently building a Redfish Silver and the approach I took with it was to put on the waterline strip first and then stripped above and below it and cut in the shear strips using a Japanese Pull Saw. The advantages of this method are that you wont need cheater strips at all as the strips run is pretty much straight you still have to deal with the twisting but that is minor. You can see photos of what I'm talking about at the following web site, http://artzippel.com.onemerchant.com/aricassilver I hope this helps
