Thanks for the info. I have thought about adding insulated frame walls around the perimeter. I would just need to clear out all the wall-hugging junk (my wife says I'm a packrat) into the middle, to work on the walls, then shove everything back to make space for the kayak(s). I've thought about putting in a wood-stove as well.

Well hell, I've thought about a lot of things, but thinking about 'em doesn't make 'em happen. My non-existent kayak, which I have been "about to" start for months now, is testament to that. Maybe I should just concentrate on getting the forms set up first, and worry about heat later, as the need arises. I could spend all my spare time improving the garage, instead of building a kayak :-)

In any event, the first thing that would have to be done would be to replace the existing uninsulated one-piece sieve of a garage door that doesn't close properly, leaving a good 1" gap all around the bottom and both sides. I get snow-drifts INSIDE the garage when the wind blows a certain way. That's on our "to do" list, but our renovation budget for 2001 has come and gone. Until that gets done, I guess I'll just have to grin and bear it.

Thanks again for all the input. I'll be looking at those LP-fired units again sometime.
