This is what I have in mind. Basic selection, three or four lengths, maybe shoulders or no - although I think shoulders are more popular. Standard laminations of fir and cedar or redwood.

Custom tip shapes, wood combinations, perhaps stiffness by changing the core structure.

You mean I dont get to show this at R2K2?!?! Seroiusly, how many people who want to build one themselves are going to want to buy one? The market here is to people who dont want to build them. I hear you - if I'm right, and swamped with paddle orders by May, I might rethink that, but I'm not sure what I am doing is anything patent-able. By R2K2, I'll have played with stiffness/core structures, and should have some very interesting experiences.
