i took my brand new gps on a trip to my cabin in the mountains (n49.37.225 w118.47.270) last week. i'm impressed. on a five mile hike in fairly thick bush it had no trouble tracking satellites. once i got the system figured out in my head i found it very easy to use. i did have some trouble with sat tracking in the truck on the trip out. i attribute this to being hemmed in by high mountains and to being in a vehicle (at 23,000 ft for a while. the gps said so )
affordable? yes. $185 (can) at walmart.
worth it? every penny!
