I've nailed some huge nails/spikes into the vertical beams of the shop. They are spaced about 4' apart. I did 4 or 5 vertical rows like this so there was a pretty good storage capacity. This system has worked okay, but I'd rather have used plywood triangles with a horizontal section sticking straight out.
