Ditto from me, I have the Penn State 4" belt / 6" disk, and I use it more than I use the Ridgid oscillating belt. Delta makes a better one, and so does Jet, but they are quite a bit more$ - roughly $200 compared to $100 if I remember right - and well worth the extra money. Not only for the beefier tables and motor, but for the better dust port which is a necessity if you are doing much sanding with it.
Mine has no DC at all, I made a slot hood right in the front of the table it sits on, and that works quite well. Last night I made a small enclosed table for the belt, which rotated to the vertical position. This catches all the dust, and works real well for shaping paddle edges. On strips, I used the belt in the horizaontal, and just caught as much dust as the slot would, which is most of it. The Ridgid has a good dust port for shop vac on it, works very well that way, and the table is beefier too. But the belt cuts slower than a disk does. The spindle is handy though, so I have it set up for that now.
