Hi Chas.
I did it (albeit a simple design) pretty much the same way that John describes. I used some strips to create an outline, and then I just cut every strip to fit where I wanted it to fit. I've got some pictures posted at my site. It is currently organized by date, the dates in question are from April 19, 2001 to May 16, 2001.
