I have trouble getting hot melt glue to bond on large surfaces so I used double face automotive trim tape, it has a thin foam layer for easy fit and some shock absorbtion. Its also waterproof and incredibly strong. My skeg was only 3" x 12" set about a foot in from the stearn I was amazed at how much better it tracks. (If it ever comes loose I'll put it on with epoxy)
