I also used a Craftsman saw in August to mill my strips for a Silver (and King). I picked up a broken piece of formica at Home Depot (look for the broken pieces in the rack...gives you a discount). I then cut it to fit the top of my table saw..so that the guide cleared it as well...then used hot glue. Then I raised my blade through the formica....and...you have a zero tolerance uniform surfaced top. I also used the featherboard setup suggested by Rob Macks. This was my first time milling strips....also the first time I have used a tablessaw in about 35 years. The setup was great...and safe.
