: Is there any reason not to use cedar, to keep the weight to a minimum? Are

I've used pine for the sheer clamp on the Endeavours I've built. I was going to use cedar but figured the slight additional weight of the slightly stronger pine wouldn't hurt. I used ash for the outside sheer covering strip.
