I too have looked for years regarding the Mead. I have one that was built by my father in the 30's. I have restored it and it is now in my house. I have pictures of it being sailed. Apparently it came with a sailing kit as well as being a kayak. I hope we are talking of the same boat.

Mine has aluminum ribs with cedar stringers and covered in canvas. Please keep me informed on any information that you come by, as I have tried for years to track this down.
