Strip: Steaming strips

OK now I find that I need to steam some of the strips (particularly the deck sheer strip) on my Night Herron. Rather than try to build a 16' steam box, does anyone have alternative ideas? Do I steal my wife's steam iron and use this on various sections of the strip? Do I wet the wood in hot towels, and then dry with a dryer? What is the easiest workable solution? If I use a heat gun, will it affect the glue that is on adjoining strips?
Thanks for the help. I could never have gotten this far without everyone on this BBS.
