Ed, you beat me to the punch about the water-tight Mini Day Hatch from Kajak-Sport, so no need to say more ... except that you could probably "have your lunch and eat it too" by installing BOTH the underdeck Mini Day Hatch AND an extra small round hatch on top of the deck! BTW, you could use exactly the same small round hatch that Lincoln is using on their "EGG boat" ... it's also made by Kajak-Sport. Food for thought ...... !!
