I have been on this board for a year and three months and I can't remember any builders of the Little Auk building during this time that posted here. I could be wrong. I will tell you what I can. I use Nick's Little Auk sizes and modified them, (caution, you need Nick's permission)and came up with a boat that doesn't track very well but can be easily fixed because I rounded the haul length wise too much like a banana. My boat came out 11'6"long. The hall bottom cross wise is rounded more then Nick's Little Auk and is more tipsy then Little Auk in calm waters I think. I raised the height of my boat more then Little Auk and therefor it can hold a lot of gear but makes it more prawn to high winds catching it. I use my boat for collection aquatic plants, etc, and it is nice for just messing around or camping. I think Nick's 14'Auk size would be better for me then the Little Auk if I were to do it again. A feature I really like is the two water tight side compartments you can see in the picture. I put camera's and other sensitive items in it, but the main feature is safty. When the boat is about 1/3 filled with water they act as pontoons and the boat settles down in the water and can be paddled to shore. They also act as a self rescue in that you can climb over the side when flooded and the boat won't roll over. I live in Eastern IN which is too far to drive but maybe you can get some idea from my descriptions and the picture about what Nick's Auk's would be like.
