At present, I just want to build a small, lightweight kayak for messing
around (photography and birding). My Old Town Pack canoe, without a
couple big rocks, sits just too high in the water for fun paddling when
it's windy. It's a tough decision between an 11' LA and the 14'GA. I
really don't want anything longer than 12', but recognise that my need
could grow for the 14'GA.

So your info/comments are really helpful to me. Perhaps someone in my
neck of the waters has a 14'GA for me to see.
