The only place that I have paddled on the coast is at Edesto Beach. Our kayak club went down and camped at the state campground. We had a great time.

We are planning to attend the Charleston kayak and Canoe festival in April. That would be a good time for you to come down and find some coastal paddling spots. I went to it last year and really enjoyed it.

I will ask around in the club and try to send you some info.

By the way, I am in North Augusta , SC. And have built a Guillemot 17 and a Great Auk.
