In Response To: S&G: How close is close enough (David Ross)

Hi David, I liked the winding stick method for my S&G: stick styrofoam wedges or blocks under the hull so it is more or less sitting on it is waterlines, lay a long stick across the front of the boat and another across the rear, check that they line up horizontally. If they don't then a little strategic stitch loosening/panel pulling can fix it. For my stipper I strung a fishing line front to back every few strips to make sure my stems and keel all formed a straight line.

I didn't have to make any adjustments to the S&G boat. I had some alignment problems on my stripper due to form warpage / had to force and end form back in place.

Trust your eye. If anything pops out fix it now; going back is always harder.
