: Does anyone have a good way of keeping bow and stern carrying toggles quiet?
: The clunking gets annoying in any kind of regular wave pattern.

: I know a lot of folks use rope loops for carrying, but I think loops are an
: entrapment hazard. They don't allow you and/or the boat to roll without
: constricting your hand. One experience hanging on to a swamped kayak
: rolling in surf convinced me that a toggle's ability to rotate is a good

- inset the toggle in a depressin so it snaps out. (thats what i did, but you have to drain it)
- put in like a broomhandle snap so the toggle snaps inplace on the surface.
- the easiest is to drill smallish hole for the line thru the toggle and pull the toggle line tight thru so it's snugged up and won't move.
- or put a thickener on the bow side of the toggle line and snug it up. When you pull both of the last 2 they'd go to the full extent of yr line.- test out to work best.
-loop the deck bungee to the knot of the loop thru a fitting so it retracts but the fitting takes the stress.
- drill a horizontal hole in the yak and jam the toggle in. put a figurehead on the end.
