Mystic Seaport offers a skin-on-frame course that lasts six days. Most of the students will have their boats built and skinned within that time frame, though some may take a seventh day. Applying the finish to the skin is done after the student brings the boat home. My girlfriend just took the course and loved it. I spent some time in the shop and the staff is terrific. They would also be another possibility for instruction.
