Like Brian indicates, the bulk of the work can be done... The instructor shows up with strips, strongback and forms cut plus any laminations, etc that must be done in advance. Then it's seven (long) days of setup, stripping, sanding, glassing. In the account I read, the students drew straws for the boat; the winner got to take it home and finish it (fit-out, varnish, etc.) As usual, being the loser didn't pay off too well :)
