I used Aluminum powder pigment in the fill coat on a sailboat restoration. All the work was done outside, and I wanted some UV protection before getting to the painting phase. There was nothing special to report - just rolled on gray epoxy instead of clear. When it came time to paint, some yellowing had occurred, but that was sanded off prior to spraying on primer. I used West epoxy and Aluminum powder pigment. The only reason I used a primer was for fairing - the Gougeon brothers have a long history of painting over epoxy without primer.
