Sell the dining room table and try to use all epoxy. Polyester is harder than epoxy. However the trait that makes it a glue is flexability. Poly is brittle and will crack - especially with movement. That's why you can't bond things with it. You can bend a hardened puddle of epoxy almost end to end whereas a hardend puddle of poly will shatter into pieces. Poly is really meant of all glass layups like a fiberglass boat where it's really bonding to itself- not wood. People have use it on wood but for the most part they fail.
