Just kidding, right Paul. This stuff stays rather slick when you sand on it you and get nowhere. Here is one other thought on hull protection and I will get off this line of thought. There was a huge planner at the Company I worked at (maybe 60 ft. long) that faced off dozens of cast iron molds at a time. It had a nozzle head to suck up the shavings from the tool cuttings but the heads were wearing out like crazy and they wanted the model dept. to come up with heads that lasted longer. We first made a nozzel made of iron filled epoxy and these only lasted about a week before wearing through. Then we used the Rp-3260 blue plastic and that lasted about a month before wearing out. Then we tried a polyuerthane that was semi-flexable that lasted forever. I have thought the 3260 would be better haul protection then the two part polyuerthane only because you can slit this stuff with a knife. But since this polyuerthane is a clear amber and could be painted over the varnished hull and maybe not be very noticable. Also patterns we made for use in sand casting foundries wear from the constant sand but when we made the patterns from polyuerthane they seem to last for ever with out wear. I may be talking myself in to trying this after I finish my new boat and refinish my other one.
This could be a real answer.
