Thanks for your input, everyone. I had never steam bent wood before so I didn't know what to expect. The wood didn't come out as wet as I expected it would and it cooled real fast. So by the time I got it fitted into place and did the same for the matching strip on the other side of the hull it was ready to glue. Unless problems show up later it seems that a few minutes wait is all thats necessary. Thanks
