: Started on my 5th boat this week. every boat so far, I've used MAS epoxy.
: Been very happy with MAS, but checking on web site, and RAKA is almost 1/2
: of the price. Would like to save the money, but dont want to use an
: inferior product. Any info to the two epoxies would be helpful. Thanks,

Hi Don

Can't comment about the MAS products as I haven't used them, but have and am now using RAKA 127 resin with 350 hardener and it's great!! I'm Also using RAKA's 3.25 satin weave cloth and the combination is absolutely great. I believe that Vaclav, at One Ocean Kayaks has on his site some comparisons of all the major brands for viscosity and clearness, and I believe ( but may be wrong ) but the information there will point to RAKA as being an Excelent product. It is, I believe, the clearest of the top brands, and is a bit thinner as well. It works really well wetting out the satin weave cloth which is a tighter weave than regular cloth. Get more opinions and take a look at the results at One Ocean Kayak's site. I think you will find it to be of excellent quality. IMHO
